Safeguarding

It is now five years since the Safeguarding course “Creating Safer Space” Foundation module was issued by the Methodist Church and many people holding office in the Bury St Edmund Circuit received their training. The subject of abuse is constantly in the headlines. The Methodist Church has conducted a “Past cases review”, investigating in depth previous cases of abuse and allegations of abuse.

A revised course has been produced and all people who hold offices within the Methodist Church are required to attend. There is also a repeat of the “Creating Safer Space” Foundation module for those newly in post who have not yet undertaken Methodist Church Safeguarding training. All courses are at 7:30pm. The three retraining courses will be the same at the three venues.  A list of people required to attend can be found at http://www.methodist.org.uk/media/2387720/fm_refresher_2016_-_who_should_attend.pdf
