We cover some five hundred square miles of rural mid Suffolk, stretching from Needham Market in the east, taking in Stowmarket as you travel west, across to the Cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds and then down to Sudbury. Delightful, picturesque villages can be found on the minor roads throughout the area which makes travelling through the countryside a pleasure.

Ten churches make up the Circuit, one of which, Christchurch in Needham Market, is a united URC/ Methodist congregation. From large town centre churches to smaller village chapels the Circuit seeks to give expression to our calling as worshipping, serving, outward looking, and caring communities.

Within the boundaries of the Circuit are The Martins, in Bury St Edmunds, a Methodist Home, providing housing and care for older people (www.mha.org.uk) and Culford School (www.culford.co.uk), a Methodist Independent Co-educational Day and Boarding School.

I hope you will enjoy exploring this website and discovering all that the churches of the Circuit have to offer.

With every good wish and God bless,

Rev Debbie Borda

Superintendent Minister

Recent Events in the Life of Our Circuit:-

Messy Church at Trinity took place again on Sunday 11th November with the theme "Give Peace A Chance" to commemorate the centenary of the ending of World War I.   This was another very successful event with a range of activities and crafts ranging from "Splat The Trench Rat" to worship in the Sanctuary, during which two of our children read to us.  It was great that the children wanted to talk when we got up into church.

This is the Autumn Fayre, which took place at Cotton on Saturday 3rd November with a variety of stalls and refreshments served.  Our friendly chapel at Cotton holds a variety of successful events and activities throughout the year, which are always well-supported.

On Saturday 13th October, Stowmarket Methodist Church had an "Away Day" in the beautiful surroundings of Assington Hall.

At Trinity we had another very successful Messy Church, with the theme of "Everywhere Prayer" on 14th October.  There was a wonderful atmosphere in our ground floor hall as we explored the theme of "Everywhere Prayer" based on Paul's Letter to the Philippian Church through messy and not-so-messy crafts and activities.  This was followed by a worship session in the upstairs Lounge and food!!

Messy Church took place on the last Sunday in September at St John's, Sudbury on the theme of Creation.  Everyone had a stimulating and enjoyable time, Rev Debbie Borda led this session whilst Rev John Boardman is away on Sabbatical.
