Dear Friend
Welcome and we are delighted that you are accessing the Bury St Edmunds circuit website. I hope that you will be able to find what you are looking for, but if not then please contact the circuit office or one of the ministers.
These are very strange times to us all and we may not be meeting in the way that we have for hundreds of years but we are continuing to worship, to praise God, to pray and to have fellowship together. We are doing this through the postal system and also using many forms of technology, you will find the details below.
We are keeping in touch with one another and if you are new to this website and would like someone to talk to then please contact one of the ministers.
God is very much alive here in our lives and we are witnessing God’s love in a different way. We must never forget that God is with us and that at the heart of the Christian Gospel is a message of hope, and that is something that the world could do with right now.
God bless
Debbie

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic things have had to change, so what’s going on……….. well…………..
The way we worship has changed – we now have so many opportunities to worship in different ways ….. it is so exciting and I hope that there is something to suit you. We use the same order of worship across the circuit; it is good to know that we are not alone when we worship.
Worship Sheet
Every week we produce a worship sheet for your use and this is used across the circuit on a Sunday. It is sent out by email or by post for those without internet access. We post out about 120 each week. You can access the worship sheet here.
Services in Church Buildings
For the safety of all of our people all of our church buildings are closed for worship.
Zoom Services
Every Sunday there are two Zoom services across the circuit, should you wish to join one of these please contact the circuit office who will be able to link you to the person hosting the service for that week.
Recorded Service
Every week we video record the service from the worship sheet and you can access this here.
Facebook Live Service
Rev Ruth Ridge is doing a weekly service on the St John's Facebook page live at 6pm every Thursday. The service lasts about 30 mins and is available to watch live and on the page at any time after it has been broadcast. The service is available at: https://www.facebook.com/stjohnsmethodistchurchsudbury and you do not have to have a Facebook account to access it.
Daily Worship
Each day there is a thought for the day written by a Local preacher or a Supernumerary minister which is posted every morning on the website. You can access it here.
Newsletter
It is so important that we keep in touch with one another and therefore each week we produce a newsletter which you can access here. If you have any information to add to it then please forward it to the Reverend Debbie Borda.

We cover some five hundred square miles of rural
mid Suffolk, stretching from Needham Market in the east, taking in
Stowmarket as you travel west, across to the Cathedral town of Bury St
Edmunds and then down to Sudbury.
Delightful, picturesque villages can be found on the minor roads
throughout the area which makes travelling through the countryside a
pleasure.
Ten churches make up the Circuit, one of which,
Christchurch in Needham Market, is a united URC/ Methodist congregation.
From large town centre churches to smaller village chapels the Circuit
seeks to give expression to our calling as worshipping, serving, outward
looking, and caring communities.
I hope you will enjoy exploring this website and discovering all that the churches of the Circuit have to offer.
With Every Good Wish and God Bless,
Rev Debbie Borda
Superintendent Minister

Funeral Services
At present only small numbers are able to meet to remember, celebrate and give thanks for, the lives of our friends and colleagues who have recently passed away. So we have created a new webpage with details of forthcoming funeral services, which you can access here.
