MHA began because of the vision, dedication and enthusiasm of a small group of Methodist volunteers who wanted to improve the quality of life of older people, inspired by Christian concern. Can you help us to continue the story of over 70 years of caring and keep the well-being of older people on your church agenda?
We need help to administer our annual Methodist Homes Sunday appeal in your circuit. This involves sharing out resources between churches and passing on any donations.
You could make a difference to the lives of older people in our care.

Could YOU be our new Amenity Fund Treasurer?
We are looking for a willing volunteer to do a small but vital job to help the residents of The Martins MHA.
We have an Amenity Fund that pays for activities, entertainment, outings and occasional gifts for the residents. Our long serving treasurer is looking to retire and tells us the job requirements are very straightforward. (He has done it without a computer.)
It involves keeping records of receipts and payments and a Petty Cash Book. These need to be reconciled with the Bank statement.
We hold a few annual fund raising events like the Summer and Christmas Fairs and Fireworks Night when the Treasurer obtains float and change as needed, and counts and banks the takings. Income is supplemented by donations and legacies.
The Treasurer reports to the Volunteer Support Group that meets usually three times a year and keeps in touch with the Home Manager and Staff.
